Much like the construction of a dream, Dream Log was compiled in a single night, but is made up of fragmented audio memories dating back to childhood.

Dream Log reflects my lifelong experience of strange dream-related phenomena… lucid dreaming, out of body experiences, sleep paralysis, & psychic dreaming. 

Within Dream Log, the listener is confronted with a surreal and vivid foreground. Through a cloud of synthetic sound, filtered voices and memory fragments can be made out, maintaining an awareness of the outside world, but not a full understanding of it. You drift between two realms:

(Dream Space)
Represented by synthetic pads, bells, & chimes

(Waking Life Space)
Represented by audio samples, voice memos, & field recordings from my life dating back to 2008.

Floating between, is a guiding sound. A synthesizer made from my singing voice. This represents a human spirit, let loose in abstraction, free to follow its own logic. Fusing the two realms and re-contextualizing memories in novel ways.
